Real Madrid’s most expensive signing Gareth Bale has praised his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo by saying that he is one of the best in the world. Ronaldo recently scored his 23rd hat-trick of the Real Madrid career in the 5-1 win over Real Sociedad. The Portuguese superstar has been a spectacular scoring spree Madrid in £ 80 million deal, which was only recently eclipsed by Bale. He holds numerous records after becoming the fastest Real Madrid player to score goals at various levels. He is a major favourite to win the FIFA Ballon d’Or award for the first time since 2008.

He has not won this award since moving to Madrid, but the recent injury to Lionel Messi may mean that he will go ahead of the Argentine in terms of the rankings. After struggling a lot with injury and fitness during the early part of his Real Madrid career, Gareth Bale is finally starting to come good. He has created and scored numerous goals in the last few matches. The former Tottenham star has said that fitness was the major problem he faced during the initial matches, but now that he is close to 100%, fans are starting to see what he can do.

The rivalry between Ronaldo and Bale has been talked up amongst the media.

“When you play with the best player in the world, it does make life easier. And to be playing with him and the rest of the team is massive for me and I’m enjoying every minute of it. It was obviously a little bit of a slow start, with not having a pre-season and getting a few nagging injuries, but that’s out of the way now and I feel I’ve settled in very well. Everybody at the club has been very helpful, the players have been great with me,” said Bale.
