Manuel Pellegrini will stay in charge of Manchester City for the next season

This season was one to forget for Manuel Pellegrini and Manchester City as the team failed on winning any major trophy but despite not being able to lift any pieces of silverware, it seems like the Chilean manager will continue coaching the Premier League club.

It’s believed that Manuel Pellegrini has already met with the chairman of Manchester City, Khaldoon al-Mubarak and everything seemed to be in order.

Pellegrini had to travel over to Canada in order to plan out Manchester City’s post-season tour and also spent some time with the chairman who flew in from Abu Dhabi as he attended the final match of the season which was played against Southampton at their home turf at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola was one of the managers who was consistently being linked with the coaching role at Manchester City but the Spanish tactician has not shown any signs of leaving Bayern Munich.

Even with all the rumors that are linking Carlo Ancelotti, Jurgen Klopp and other top notch managers with Manchester City, Manuel Pellegrini says that he is confident about how this season ended and the Chilean manager has no doubt about his future.

Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini told reporters: “I’ve never had any doubt in my mind all season. I know what the owners think; I speak with them all the time. They’re not owners who think because you do not win the title you must go out. “I am not happy with the way we worked the whole year. We lost too many stupid points.’’

“But I assure you we are going to grow as a club next season. The most important target for us is to recover the title next season, and I believe we are not far away from doing that.”

It wasn’t a bad season for Manchester City as they finished in the 2nd spot of the Premier League but it certainly was underwhelming as the team failed on lifting any major titles, however, this is something that Pellegrini hopes to change in the next season.
