Love it, Johnno takes not one but TWO shots from the Munster players, and all the Irish commentators can refer to is his punch,

Loved that match. Paulie and Donncha gave the English second row a lesson.

the good ole days , they've sanitised this game too much !!!

Shame Peter Stringer didn't manage to get full leverage on his punch though. And it may have been a tad fortuitous , let's say, that 'Jonno' didn't realise exactly who had got first strike…. Lovely touch that the referee awards a penalty against the big man for retaliating – for hitting an entirely innocent ( that may be stretching things a bit) Munster forward. Stringer is STILL playing great rugby in the English Premiership at 93 which is wonderful to see.
It was not a punch from stringer but he did hit him of a sorts. And then Johnson retaliates. To be honest it was not much from either player. It was not like they threw some big haymaker.

Irish officials. What would you expect. "Number 4 threw an uppercut". What rubbish. And the wanker who started it, Stringer is still playing – in England.

Not much point punching Jim Williams without a sledge hammer

The good old days when a punch was just a penalty lol

I'm no fan of Martin Johnson, arrogance personified, but that was a dirty move by Stringer.

I clearly see Alan Quinlan throwing a cheeky dig at Johnson and then he retaliates and hits an innocent player.

My everlasting memory of the livewire scrum-half that Peter Stringer was, was when Munster played Newport a few seasons back. The Newport tight head dived over the try line on his way to scoring a try when Stringer ran in and managed to wrestle the ball from his grasp and averted the try being scored! Little man with a Lion's heart!

Stringer grappled a bit, didn't punch him though.
